Marike Vreken
Sole Proprieter of Marike Vreken Town Planners CC, Marike obtained the B.Art et Scien(bepl) degree at the University of Potchefstroom in 1996. She has since worked for private consultants De Jager & Associates in Potchefstroom, as Senior Technical Assistant in the Department of Town & Regional Planning at the University of Stellenbosch, and as a Town Planner at Drakenstein (Paarl) Municipality.
In 2002 Marike returned to private consulting, working for Urban Dynamics Western Cape where her main responsibilities were the compilation of a municipal Spatial Development Framework (SDF) for the Theewaterskloof and Saldanha Bay Municipalities.
On moving to Knysna at the end of 2003 Marike began work for VPM Planning and was mainly responsible for compiling an integrated and consolidated Zoning Scheme for the greater Knysna Municipal Area. During June 2004, Marike established Marike Vreken Town & Regional Planners CC, and has since completed many successful applications, as can be seen on the projects page.

Gemma Pogodin
Gemma joined the team at Marike Vreken Town Planners in 2010. Gemma completed a BSS Degree in Geography and History at Rhodes University before moving to the UK and enrolling at Cardiff University to complete a Royal Town Planning Institute accredited MSc in Town Planning and International Development. Gemma works as a Town Planner, is a member of the South African Planning Institute and is responsible for a viriety of land use applications including rezoning, consent use, zoning scheme departures and removal of restrictions.
